Miss Cammy's Class Celebrations!

There are so many wonderful moments we've shared this semester! If only we could save time in a bottle!

This week we held our end of the semester Class Celebrations! We had so much fun! Here are just a few candid pictures of some of our favorite activities!

Circle Around Jing- Jang!
Instrument Play is always fun!

We love our musical little ones! We had so much fun in our Fiddle- Dee- Dee unit listening to animal sounds, reading farm books, pretending to be quacking ducks, buzzing bees, and beautiful butterflies-plus much more! What was your favorite animal? Or your favorite song? Shakin' eggs to Sourwood mountain was fun, fun! And we loved rolling over and wagging our tail like Rover! Hopefully you will have fun listening to your CD's all summer long!

We like to hear:
BOOM, SHAKE, BANG!
Lots and lots of singing too!

Together we make a band!

Miss Melissa's Class Celebrations!

Away we go, Zoom-E-Oh!

In our cities! class we sure had fun learning about the cobbler, baker, barber shops and going to the post office! Who will you write a letter to this summer?

We are Fine Musicians!!!

Peek- a- boo! (take a close look in the center!)

Learning to share and make music together!

Making puppets was so much fun on our last day of Fiddle- Dee -Dee/Our Time. They participated in class with us the whole time!

Fiddle- Dee- Dee/ Fiddle-Dee- Dee. The fly has married the bumblebee!
When Ducks wake up in the morning, they always say good-day! Quack, Quack, Quack- That is what they say!

I saw a little bunny go hop, hop, hop!
I saw his long ears go flop, flop, flop!
I saw his little nose go twink, twink, twink!
I saw his little eyes go wink, wink, wink!
I said, "Little Rabbit, won't you stay?"
But, he just looked at me and hopped away.

Playing the rhythm sticks!

Shake, shake, shake those bells!

We sure love all of our Kindermusik Families!

Musical benefits in children

We all love the feeling of doing something good for our child, right? Sometimes even the most basic skills with children can be cause for celebration or frustration!
One of the most surprising benefits from an early education in music is the ability to use .... drum roll please ... scissors. Seriously. There's a rhythm to using scissors, a coordination of the fine motor skills, the thumb and pointing finger, working together, yet separately. Eye-hand coordination is moving the hand and scissors forward in a straight line without cutting off anything really important. Like a finger!

Practice with rhythm and instruments helps a child use scissors. Not so funny thing is that kindergarten teachers say that children are starting school without this very basic skill. However, Kindermusik families seem typically exempt from this problem!

Just one more reason Kindermusik is good for your child!

Reminder: Next Monday is Presidents' Day, so Monday classes will not be meeting that day!

Happy Valentines Day!
